1. Introduction

Welcome to Storage Box CY. By using our services, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions. Please review them carefully.

3. Access to Storage Units

Access to your storage unit is available 24/7. You may enter the storage facility at any time to deposit, remove, or inspect your goods.

4. Pricing

Our pricing details are available on our website. Please refer to Pricing Information for the most current rates.

5. Payment Terms

  • The Customer must pay the storage fee for a minimum period of one month upon signing this contract and thereafter on each due date.
  • Payments are to be made in advance, either monthly or annually.
  • The Owner may change the fees at any time by providing The Customer with written notice. The new fees take effect on the first due date occurring not less than one month after the notice date.
  • If fees are not paid in full within ten days following the due date, The Customer will be liable for an administrative charge of €15 for late payment. If payment is not received within one month, access to the storage unit may be restricted.
  • If two consecutive months of fees remain unpaid, The Owner has the right to claim possession of the contents of the storage unit and sell or otherwise dispose of the contents to cover costs and discharge the debt. The Customer is liable for any costs incurred in administering the debt collection and/or sale process of goods.

6. Monthly Calculation

  • The amount payable each month is calculated by the weekly amount multiplied by 52, divided by 12.
  • Any other frequency of payment other than per calendar month or annually is at The Owner’s discretion.

7. Change of Details

  • The Customer will keep The Owner informed in writing of any changes to billing and contact details.
  • If The Customer is between properties, moving house, or likely to change their address, they must provide an additional postal address (e.g., work address, a parent or friend’s details).
  • All correspondence will be sent to the last given address and considered received when dispatched to the given address.

8. Liability

  • The Owner accepts no liability for any loss or damage to The Customer’s container contents, nor to The Customer or Customer’s representative whilst on site.
  • It is The Customer’s responsibility to arrange insurance for the contents of their storage unit.

9. Prohibited Items

  • The Customer must not store firearms, weapons, ammunition, explosives, chemicals, radioactive materials, toxic waste, asbestos, wet or damp items, plants, birds, fish, animals, food, or perishable goods.
  • All items stored must be the legal property of The Customer. No illegal goods or stolen property or items for which VAT has not been paid may be stored.
  • The Owner has the final decision on what may be stored. Any item not allowed must be removed immediately. If not removed within 24 hours, The Owner may dispose of the said items at The Customer’s cost.

10. Subletting and Business Use

  • The Customer may not sublet the unit or any part of it, nor run a business from the unit.
  • The Owner will treat any items left outside the unit as rubbish and dispose of them. The Customer will be liable for any associated disposal costs.

11. Termination of Contract

  • Either The Owner or The Customer may terminate this contract at any time with a minimum of 28 days’ written notice.
  • All outstanding fees must be paid before termination.
  • The Customer must remove all goods before the termination date and leave the unit empty, clean, and serviceable.
  • Any goods left after the termination date will be treated as abandoned and may be disposed of to cover costs and outstanding fees.

12. Keys and Security

  • The Owner will issue The Customer with a key or keys for their sole use. The Customer is responsible for the security of their unit and must keep the key(s) safe.
  • No copies may be made of the key(s). Loss and replacement of keys will incur a €50 fee.
  • The Customer may not substitute or add additional locks or modify the unit.

13. Property Disputes

  • The Owner remains neutral in property disputes. Only The Customer as recorded on the contract will have access to the unit.

14. Relocation of Contents

  • The Owner may, with seven days’ written notice, require The Customer to move the contents to another unit of the same or larger size.

15. State of Repair

  • Signing this contract confirms that the container is in good repair and fit for purpose.
  • The Customer is liable for any damage to the unit caused by goods stored therein.

16. Owner’s Right of Access

  • The Owner may access the unit with seven days’ notice for inspection or maintenance, or without notice in cases of emergency, legal requirements, or non-payment issues.

17. Site Safety

  • The Customer must follow safety instructions and report any safety issues immediately. The Owner accepts no responsibility for accidents.

18. Respect towards Owner and Representatives

  • Any form of intimidation or violence towards The Owner or representatives will lead to immediate termination of the contract.

19. Variation of Terms

  • The Owner may vary any terms of this contract by providing written notice to The Customer’s last given address.

20. Governing Law

These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of Cyprus.
